" I paint the things that I love; objects of sentimentality, places of memory. Painting at it's best not only captures the light of the moment, but the feeling as well."
Regarding The Still Life series "Scatter Paintings " I frequently choose to paint groupings of small objects in great detail. This intense view of individual items has developed into a personal style of Still Life I refer to as "Scatter Paintings". Objects are placed on a flat surface, sometimes randomly, more often with careful orchestration to create a strong visual rhythm. These works incorporate elements of classic tromp l'oeil painting with a bird’s eye perspective. The result is a unique presentation that engages the viewer in a visual dance.
